CAIGA DE LO ALTO BIENHECHOR ROCÍO COMO RIEGO SANTO, es una conocida frase de los rezos que repetíamos en navidad frente a un pesebre, dentro de las tradiciones domésticas católicas. Lejos de esa postura religiosa, la frase me pareció adecuada para criticar el atropello a nuestros campos que traen las fumigaciones con glifosato como aplicación de malas políticas en el control de la producción de drogas. Si algo efectivo puede hacer el arte como motivador de la conciencia es replantear la moral, antes que las leyes lo hagan. Para mí lo verdaderamente sagrado es la naturaleza y en especial la vida, la ecología es mi religión. SANTA, el título se refiere a ese acento sacro, pero también a la ira santa que me movió a hacer esta protesta.

“CAIGA DE LO ALTO BIENHECHOR ROCÍO COMO RIEGO SANTO”/“Fall from above, beneficent showers, like holy rain,” is a well-known verse from the prayers of Christmas carol we would repeat before a manger at Christmastime as part of the household Catholic traditions. Far from that religious stance, I found the phrase to be fitting as a criticism of how our lands have been impacted by the application of faulty policies which advocated glyphosate fumigation to control the production of drugs. If there is something effective that art can do to motivate awareness, it is to rethink morality, before the laws do it. What is truly sacred to me is nature, and life in particular. Ecology is my religion. The title Holy refers to that sacred accent, but also to the holy fury that inspired me to enact this protest.
