La fotografía ha sido uno de los medios mas recurrentes en mi producción, mis primeros intentos de hacer arte tienen que ver con ella, retratos ·· artísticos·· que hice siendo niño con cámaras de cajón y luego muy joven autorretratos con la cámara Kodak 1-A de mi padre. Encontré este aparato, colgado en una percha, abandonado por casi dos décadas, empecé por mi cuenta a tratar de entender su mecanismo. Descubrí que una parte importante de él era el dial de exposición, el cual tenía una posición marcada con una B (bulb position), que me permitía abrir el obturador todo el tiempo deseado. Pensé entonces que podría lograr fotografías con larga exposición . Los primeros resultados una vez revelados los negativos me sorprendieron. Unos años después logré este autorretrato con luz de luna. Estas primeras aventuras definieron para siempre en mí el gusto por la experimentación y mi apego a la fotografía.

Photography has been one of the most frequent media in my production. My earliest attempts at making art were linked to it: artistic portraits that I did as a child with box cameras, and then self-portraits that I did at a young age using my father’s Kodak 1-A. I found the camera hanging from a peg, having been abandoned for nearly two decades. On my own, I began to try to understand the mechanics of it. I discovered that an important part was the exposure dial, which had a position marked with a B for bulb, which allowed me to open the shutter for the desired time. So it occurred to me that I could do long-exposure photography. The initial results surprised me once developed. Some years later I did Self-Portrait with Moonlight. Those early adventures instilled in me a taste for experimentation and my enduring partiality toward photography.
